Assists the Plant Manager in scheduling the activities of the production team in the construction and stripping of precast products; directs and coaches the crews in performance of their work; communicates and collaborates with management and quality control personnel to optimize production quality and batch plant workflow; and assists with interpreting and administering company policy.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Include training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Serves as a hands on role model for employees with regard to attendance, timeliness, loyalty, mutual respect and support for organizational teamwork and continuous improvement
Develops daily and weekly production schedules and estimates work hour requirements for completion of job assignment, batch plant efficiency and table utilization.
Works closely with mold building and quality personnel to ensure mold readiness, quality and availability.
Leads daily production meetings to discuss production schedules, concerns, and opportunities for improvement, and to ensure ongoing organizational teamwork.
Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to associates, and assign duties
Established or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
Inspects molds and products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup personnel
Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
Develops and maintains time and production records.
Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
Initiates or suggests plans to motivate associates to achieve work goals
Works with Management to track and reduce the level of precast product rework and fixes
Performs activities of associates supervised.
Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) and/or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in the architectural, precast, or construction industry. Associates degree in business, management, construction or engineering field preferred.
Communication Skills: Ability to speak both English and Spanish fluently. Must be able to effectively understand and write procedures, present information to employees, managers, customers and vendors. Ability to read and understand construction documents.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, and to calculate percentages, area, circumference, periphery and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, climb, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and talk and hear. Manual lifting requirements are moderate to heavy, but with the assistance of other personnel, fork trucks and cranes.
Work Environment: The work described will require the Production Supervisor to be in the plant a majority of the time. This employee will be required to wear all safety equipment required of regular plant personnel.
